How To Tell If Someone Blocked You On Snapchat

Do you think someone has blocked you on Snapchat? Is there a way to be sure? The answer is yes!

Let me tell you not one but multiple ways to find out. Read on for my cool hacks.

How To Tell If Someone Blocked You On Snapchat

I have found out a few workarounds to find out if someone on your friend list has blocked you on Snapchat. Try them out!

Search Their Username

You can find out if you have been blocked by a user by searching for their username in your friends list.

The search tab (a magnifying glass icon) appears on the top left corner of your screen once you open the Snapchat app.

If their account doesn’t pop up on your friends list search then the person has either deleted their account or blocked you.

But if their username or full name does show up, it could mean that they have only deleted you from their friends list and not blocked you.

What I do to be absolutely sure is apply all the hacks together. You should do that too!

Use Your Friend Accounts To Search For Their Username

You have searched for the user from your Snapchat account and didn’t get any results. Now, it’s time to try the second method i.e. searching from a friend’s Snapchat account.

This step will help confirm if the person you are looking for has deleted their account or blocked you. Simply ask your friend to search for the user and if they appear in their search then it could mean you have been blocked!

If you don’t want to ask a friend for this favor then create a new account and carry out the above steps. If the name appears on a different account, then I’m sorry but it’s certain you have been blocked.

Look For Recent Chats

If you have chatted with a user on Snapchat then finding out if they have blocked you becomes easier.

Open the Chat list tab on your Snapchat app and search for your recent chat with the user.

If the recent conversation does not appear in the search result, then you can be almost certain that they have blocked you.

A friend of mine tried this method and could not find any old conversations on his Google Pixel. They assumed they had been blocked.

But the actual reason was that they had cleared the chat history, and hence couldn’t find the conversation! Be sure to not make this mistake.

Check Stories And Snap Map

If someone blocks you on social media, then they wouldn’t want you seeing their stories and location, right? And that’s exactly what Snapchat does when someone blocks you on their contact list.

I once couldn’t see any Stories from a friend who is quite active on Snapchat and social media.

Luckily, in my case, it turned out that they had accidentally deleted me. But from the experience, I learned that if a Snapchat user blocks/deletes you then you cannot see their Snapchat story or find them on Snap Map.

Try To Add Them Again

If you are still reading this, it means you are desperate to find out if your Snapchat account has been blocked! Well, this next method will confirm your query.

Provided you can find the suspected user on your list or in the search tab, try to implement the process of “add friend” again. If you are unable to do so, then you have definitely been blocked.

If a Snapchat friend blocked you, then the only way to see their accounts again is if they unblock you. There’s nothing you can do!

Conclusion

So, the next time you suspect that you have a blocked account, these methods will help confirm it.

And if you indeed have been blocked on social media, then it’s not the end of the world. You can always make new friends, both online and offline!

Can Someone See If You Blocked Them Snapchat?

No. Snapchat does not send the blocked user any notification informing them of the issue. When you block a person on Snapchat, they are unable to see your recent posts or stories (unless it is a public profile), and cannot message you either.

While they do not receive any notification they can find out they have been blocked when they can’t see your stories, find you in the search tab, or retrieve old chats.

What Happens On Snapchat When You Get Blocked?

When you get blocked on Snapchat, you stop receiving notifications from or seeing the blocker’s profile. You will not be able to find them when you search for them in the Snapchat search tab.

You will also not be able to send messages to them, see their stories and snaps, and location. In short, any details of their Snapchat profile will henceforth not be available to you.
